New Jersey Governor Chris Christie says he won’t be appearing on behalf of Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino in the near future.

“I will spend time in places where we have a chance to win, I said that right from the beginning,” Christie said according to NJ.com.

Christie is in charge of the Republican Governors Association and has campaigned in several states around the country this year, including Iowa last week.

But with polls showing Astorino trailing Governor Andrew Cuomo by more than 30 points, New York apparently isn’t on the agenda.

“We don’t pay for landslides and we don’t invest in lost causes,” Christie said.

Instead, the New Jersey Governor will spend time in states where races are competitive, like Connecticut.

Christie appeared in the state yesterday, where he endorsed Republican Tom Foley in his bid to unseat Governor Dannel Malloy.
