Mayor Bill de Blasio is planning to travel to Italy with his family for a 10 day vacation.
The Daily News reports the First Family leave next Friday, visiting Rome, Naples and Venice. It will be the longest vacation in recent memory for a New York City mayor.
The mayor will continue to get daily briefings from his staff and could meet with the mayor of Rome during the trip.
De Blasio will pay for his family’s vacation. The mayor’s security detail and a small group of staffers will also make the trip to Italy.
Deputy Mayor Anthony Shorris will run the city while de Blasio’s away.
