Four EMS workers have been suspended without pay, after the death of a Staten Island man who was put in a chokehold by a police officer.

They’re accused of not offering proper aid to Eric Garner, who went into cardiac arrest while being arrested last Thursday.  The police officer accused of putting Garner in a chokehold, Daniel Pantaleo, has been stripped of his badge and gun.

Yesterday, the Daily News reports a group rallied near City Hall calling for the resignation of Police Commissioner Bill Bratton.

“Commissioners need to pay the political price, said Josmar Trujillo with the group New Yorkers Against Bratton.  “If that were to happen, if Commissioner Bratton were to resign, if Mayor de Blasio were to ask for his resignation it would send a signal to all future commissioners that brutality is unacceptable, that their jobs are on the line.”

An investigation of the incident is continuing.
