A mysterious snake was found in Washington Square Park on Sunday afternoon.

The snake was green with black spots and was measured to be 10 feet long. Police were called around 2 p.m. when the snake was spotted by bushes in the park.

It is unknown what kind of snake it was, or how it got in to the park, but the snake is now in a shelter located in the East Village.
