Today in court, the 16-year-old boy who is suspected of started a fire in a Brooklyn high-rise pleaded not guilty to arson.

The fire, which occurred back at the beginning of April, took the life of an NYPD officer and seriously injured another. Police claim the boy originally admitted to igniting a mattress on fire because he was "bored," according to PIX11.

The teen's lawyer claims that the boy was forced into making a confession by extreme interrogation by authorities, but the NYPD is denying any forced admission.
