A taxi cab that jumped a curb outside Rockefeller Center in Midtown Manhattan Tuesday morning may have severed the legs of a female tourist according to a report from the New York Post.

According to the NY Post, eyewitnesses say the driver was turning right onto Sixth Avenue from 49th Street when the taxi appeared to accelerate and jump the curb.
UPDATE: An NYPD spokesperson (via Gothamist) has confirmed that the tourist is a 23-year-old woman and she had her right leg amputated below the knee as a result of being struck by the taxi.
A bicyclist also was struck by the cab, but he is reportedly okay after being shaken up.
