Brutal tornados hit the central Plains and mid-South on Sunday. At least 18 people were killed in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Iowa. One Arkansas county was hit so hard, 10 people were killed.
LA Clippers players warmed for a playoff game up with their shirts inside out, hiding the Clippers logo over the weekend. It was an apparent protest over the racist comments allegedly made by Clippers owner Donald Sterling. TMZ released audio of someone they say is Sterling, arguing with his girlfriend, V. Stiviano, about Instagram pictures she posted with black players, including Magic Johnson. Deadspin later released further recordings. At one point, his girlfriend says she doesn’t share Sterling’s views on race, to which he responds, quote, "Well, then, if you don't feel -- don't come to my games. Don't bring black people, and don't come."
South Korea’s prime minister is resigning after the government essentially screwed up the handling of the ferry disaster. Three more people associated with the recovery have been arrested; they’re members of the Korea Shipping Association and are accused of destroying evidence.
And if you drink alcohol, the point is getting buzzed. Right? Well, if you’re wanting to stay sober, the co-founder of the Boston Beer Company says the secret is yeast. Take one teaspoon of dry yeast per drink before you start chugging. The yeast apparently causes the alcohol to break down before it reaches the brain and causes drunkenness. He says it won’t completely eliminate drunkenness, but it will greatly reduce the effects.
