LIRR Train Derails At Atlantic Terminal In Brooklyn, New York

At least 18 people are injured after an LIRR train derailed Wednesday morning. The crash occurred in Brooklyn at the Atlantic station. The incident occurred around 8:20am and as of 8:55am no one has been taken to the hospital.

Officials are saying 37 people suffered non-life threatening injuries and at least 76 people are injured. The train, which derailed at the Atlantic terminal in Brooklyn, New York, hit the platform or a bumper at a very low speed. One passenger said she heard a loud noise and then described the scene to ABC as "total pandemonium." Passengers were falling on top of each other screaming and crying. Another woman told WABC that she thought the train was traveling at a faster speed than usual.
