Boston Marathon Bombing Survivor Set To Wed Firefighter That Rescued Her


On April 15, 2013, Roseann Sdoia planned on watching runners cross the finish line at the Boston Marathon. 

When the bombs went off, firefighter, Mike Materia was there to help her and even went with her to the Massachusetts General Hospital. 

Materia visited Sdoia in the hospital often. They became friends and then eventually started dating. The couple is plan to have a wedding in the fall and are set to release a book called 'Perfect Strangers,' that will tell the story of four lives intersecting the day of the Boston bombings.
