Watch Beyonce's Touching Plea For Relief During The 'Hand In Hand' Telethon

Beyoncé helms from Houston, Texas, so it was fitting to see the pop titan participate in Tuesday night's (September 12) Hand in Hand: A Benefit for Hurricane Relief telethon, which was broadcast on iHeartRadio Hit Nation and 17 different networks, to help raise funds for victims of Harvey and Hurricane Irma.

Shortly into the broadcast, the pop titan appeared on screens in a pre-televised segment, where she spoke about the urgency in this situation. "During a time where it's impossible to watch the news without seeing violence or racism in this country, just when you think it couldn't possibly get worse, natural disasters take precious life, do massive damage and forever change lives, leaving behind contaminated water, flooded hospitals, schools and nursing homes," the singer said in her plea.

"Natural disasters don't discriminate. They don't see if you're an immigrant, black or white, Hispanic or Asian, Jewish or Muslim, wealthy or poor," she continued. "It doesn't matter if you're from Third Ward or River Oaks, we're all in this together. Seeing everyone of different racial, social and religious backgrounds put their own lives at risk to help each other survive, restored my faith in humanity."

Among the other names featured in Hand in Hand included Leonardo Dicaprio, Tom Hanks, Justin Bieber, George Clooney, Beyoncé, Reese Witherspoon, Adam Sandler, Dwayne Johnson, Selena Gomez, Julia Roberts, Oprah Winfrey, Will Smith, Nicole Kidman, Gwen Stefani, Jimmy Fallon, Jay Leno, Kate Hudson, Stephen Colbert, Jamie Foxx, Tracy Morgan, Jared Leto, Tyler Perry, Barbra Streisand, Sofia Vergara, Kerry Washington, Bruce Willis, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Eva Longoria, Catherine Zeta-Jones, David Spade, Taraji P.
