NJ Is 2019's 8th Best State To Raise A Family

With the new year starting people are looking for change. Well ever think New Jersey might be the place to plant your roots? Hiring is up with the lowest unemployment rate in close to 50 years however we are seeing a decline in single-family housing. 

Personal finance website WalletHub released its report on 2019’s Best & Worst States to Raise a Family as well as accompanying videos

In order to determine the best states for raising a family, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 49 key indicators of "family-friendliness." The data ranges from median family salary to housing affordability to unemployment rate. 

Raising a Family in New Jersey (1=Best; 25=Avg.):

11th – % of Families with Young Kids

16th – Child-Care Costs (Adjusted for Median Family Income)

4th – Infant-Mortality Rate

3rd – Median Family Salary (Adjusted for Cost of Living)

8th – Violent-Crime Rate

14th – % of Families in Poverty

4th – Separation & Divorce Rate
