Remember the petition that was going around to try and get Justin Beiber DEPORTED from the US back in January?! It requested "to see the dangerous, reckless, destructive, and drug abusing, Justin Bieber deported and his green card revoked" claiming that "he is not only threatening the safety of our people but he is also a terrible influence on our nation's youth" and actually got over 270,000 signatures!
The White House has FINALLY commented on it in an official statement saying, "Sorry to disappoint, but we won’t be commenting on this one,” because the petition actually violated its terms of participation. The response notes: “The We the People terms of participation state that, ‘to avoid the appearance of improper influence, the White House may decline to address certain procurement, law enforcement, adjudicatory, or similar matters properly within the jurisdiction of federal departments or agencies, federal courts, or state and local government in its response to a petition.”
Basically, the White House can't really get involved because legal matters remain unsolved so they want to "leave it to others to comment on Mr. Bieber's case".
