Richard Marx phoned in to On Air with Ryan Seacrest to surprise Ryan and Ellen K. for their 10th anniversary celebration.
Why? Because the “Right Here Waiting” singer was Ryan’s first concert!
“The only thing more mind blowing to me than the fact that I was your first concert you went to on a date is the fact that you admit it,” jokes Richard.
He goes on to say his music has touched people in many ways, and sometime it’s too personal.
“My favorite of course is when people tell me that they had their first sexual experience to it or made their first baby to it … I get guys coming up to me all the time just basically saying, ‘Dude, thank you. Thank you.’”
And Richard’s still at it, now doing a solo acoustic tour in California at Pepperdine University.
“I started doing a solo acoustic show, which … is me taking the audience through my songwriting career, so I play the songs almost essentially the way I wrote them,” he expains.
