John Krasinski and Emily Blunt have somehow managed to get even cuter. During an interview with Men's Health, Krasinski spoke about how meaningful it was to work with his wife on A Quiet Place, which came out earlier this year. The film was a hit, both critically and commercially. The success was bittersweet for Krasinksi, though, because he feared he'd never be able to experience something like that again.
"I said to Emily, 'There's no greater gift that the universe could have given me than to go through the biggest success of my career and I don't have to explain to you how it felt.'" Krasinski explained. "We were both in the boat. I said to her, 'I don't know if it can ever be like this again.'"
After he confessed these feelings Blunt, though, she had the perfect advice for her husband. He said: "Leave it to Emily, who is better at everything than me—she goes, 'It can't.' She just so perfectly encapsulated it. She said, 'It can't be like this again, and it shouldn't. So take this and put it on a mantel, this really special treasure that we experienced together. And now go out and do something else.'"
It appears as though Krasinski really took her lovely words of wisdom to heart, as well. "I know I'll never do another movie that's this successful, this original, this underdog-y, and then on top of it have it be with my wife every step of the way." Ugh, these two!
Though Krasinski may feel he's never going to recreate the magic that conspired to bring A Quiet Place to the big screen, he has a slew of exciting projects coming up. His new Jack Ryan television series is set to debut on Amazon on August 31st. He's taking over the iconic role after Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck, and Chris Pine have all tried their hand as the CIA agent action hero. It's the first adaptation of John Clancy's beloved series to be developed as a serialized show and the buzz at early screenings was so positive that it's already been picked up for a second season.
It looks John Krasinski is going to be just fine, especially with Emily Blunt by his side.
