Lizzo Reflects On 'Crazy' 2019 & Reveals Plan To Save The World In 2020

Lizzo may just be the busiest woman in the music industry. If anyone deserves a break this holiday season, it's definitely the 'Truth Hurts' singer. Unsurprisingly, though, she has no plans to slow down for Christmas. Instead, she's performing on Saturday Night Live on December 21. Not only is she excited to take the SNL stage for the first time, Eddie Murphy is hosting her episode. Not a bad way to end the year, right?

While chatting with Elvis Duran in the Mercedes-Benz Interview Lounge, Lizzo celebrated her Grammy nominations. Not only did she receive her first ever nominations this year, she received more nominations than any other artist this year. "I couldn't have even dreamt that," she told Elvis.

Nobody can deny Lizzo had an amazing year. Even though she's leaving 2019 on top of the world, she admits there are still some things she wants to leave behind in 2020. "The last 10 yers have been transformative," she explained. "2009 was one of the lowest points of my life. I want to leave all that in this decade, and start fresh in 2020."

When asked where all her positivity comes from, Lizzo said she credits her "sense of humor and interesting perspective on life." At the end of the day, Lizzo considers herself a "silver lining kind of person." The mantra she's taking into 2020 is that "we can save the world, but we have to save ourselves first. How can you be good to someone else when you can't be good to yourself?"
