NJ Schools Could Have Later Start Times Pretty Soon

Anyone fresh out of high school in NJ is no stranger to the sometimes absurd start times of classes. There's no universal homeroom bell in the state, schools start anywhere between 7:30am and 8:20am.

But those early rises could be on the way out!

A new bill introduced last week would require New Jersey public high schools to start no earlier than 8:30am.

While the later start time would surely result in a later dismissal time, it follows the science that shows teenagers require more sleep than they're currently getting.

And would definitely ease the pain of trying to get those same teenagers up early in the morning.
