Shelley and the City is taking on 'Heatonist'. Heatonist is a NYC hot sauce shop and tasting room with 2 locations. The flagship in Williamsburg and the second location in Chelsea Market. Next week will be their 7-year anniversary in Williamsburg, so to celebrate we had our own hot sauce tasting!
Since 2015, Heatonist has been a place for hot sauce lovers everywhere with a curated selection of 100+ all natural hot sauces including the official Hot Ones hot sauce lineups! Thankfully for people like Shelley who can't exactly handle the heat, they have a line of mild hot sauces for children called 'hot sauce junior.'
The founder of Heatonist, Noah Chaimberg, wanted to make hot sauce more accessible to customers. The idea started as a push cart in Williamsburg and now has two locations in New York, has partnered with the video series Hot Ones, and will even sell you hot sauce online! There are even locally sourced hot sauces sold at the locations and online including Queen Majesty which is created here in the city.
