Two Cincinnati parents are facing backlash online after allowing their 6 year old son to participate in the Flying Pig Marathon, a 26.2 race held in Cincinnati.
Father Ben Crawford posted on Instagram about the family running the race and had mentioned that his son Rainer "was struggling physically and wanted to take a break and sit every three minutes." He posted that when they got to mile 20 and realized there were no more snacks, Rainer "was crying" and "moving slow."
Comments online were strong, some even calling it child abuse.
The parents have addressed the reactions and insisted they didn't force their 6 year old to run.
"We asked him numerous times if he wanted to stop and he was VERY clear that his preference was to continue."
