Blake Shelton Says Gwen Stefani Helped Strengthen His Faith In God

Blake Shelton credits his girlfriend Gwen Stefani for his spiritual growth over the last four years. The country star says his relationship with Stefani has helped him regain not only his faith in love but also in God.

"I believe in God now more than I ever have in my life," Shelton told The Tennessean. "The biggest part of that is just how [Stefani] came into my life and now our relationship. It's just too weird. If you take God out of it, it doesn't make sense. If you put God into it, everything that's happened with us makes sense."

The couple started dating in the fall of 2015, and since then, Shelton's started to attend church more regularly after realizing it was time to "turn a page."

In addition to their faith, the two also come together through music. Shelton recently announced that Stefani will appear on his upcoming album, Fully Loaded: God's Country, for a duet called "Nobody But You."

"The lyrics of that song are so on point, not just for me and Gwen, but I think for a lot of people," Shelton told Nashville Lifestyles. "The song is not a fairytale, but at the same time it's the most epic, earth-rattling love song I've heard in a long time, because the lyrics are so honest and just say it how it is.

"Nobody But You" is one of five new tracks on Shelton's upcoming project. Chart-topping hits including his duet with Trace Adkins, "Hell Right," and "God's Country" will also be featured on the record.

In 2020, Shelton plans to hit the road for his "Friends and Heroes Tour." The trek, which ran earlier this year, will kick off again on February 16 in Portland, Oregon running through March 21 in Detroit, Michigan. Ticket to the tour are available now.

Fully Loaded: God's Country is due out on December 13.
