Harry Styles’ Super Bowl Gig In Miami Canceled Due to ‘Extreme Weather’

Harry Styles Performs On His European Tour At AccorHotels Arena, Paris

This is such a bummer.

Harry Styles was forced to cancel his Super Bowl Weekend concert in Miami on Friday (January 31) due to "extreme weather." The 'Watermelon Sugar' crooner was set to perform at the Planet Pepsi Zero Sugar event at the Meridian venue. Making this news even more disappointing for fans, the Miami Herald reported Lizzo was planning on joining Harry on stage for the big concert.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning on Friday afternoon. With the possibility of tornadoes, hail and 70-mph winds hitting the Miami area, Harry and Pepsi had no choice but to cancel. Unfortunately for fans, many of them had already started lining up outside the venue.

"To those of you here in Miami, I was told there’s a severe storm on the way," Harry wrote on Twitter. "The fire department would not let us do the show under any circumstances. Please stay safe. I’m so disappointed, and I’m sorry. I love you all."

Fans shared videos of the area surrounding the Meridian venue, which was flooded as a result of the thunderstorm. Lady Gaga is scheduled to perform in the same space on Saturday (February 1). As of now, there is no reports suggesting Gaga's show won't go on.

Pepsi also issued a statement about the cancellation. “For all attendees of tonight’s Planet Pepsi Zero Sugar Party, we understand this is disappointing, and want to do what we can to make this right," the statement read. "We are offering a full refund for tonight’s show and for your ride share from the venue. Details coming soon.”
