A funeral is being held on Long Island on Tuesday for New York City Police Officer Anastasio Tsakos.
The 14-year NYPD veteran was killed last week by an alleged drunk driver while he was directing traffic on the Long Island Expressway in Queens. Thousands turned out on Monday for a wake at St. Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Shrine Church in Greenlawn.
Mayor Bill de Blasio and Police Commissioner Dermot Shea are expected to be among those on hand for the funeral.
Tsakos leaves behind a wife, a 6-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son.
