And I say HEY! (HEY!) Arthur is officially ending after 25 seasons at PBS.

The cartoon show about an aardvark named Arthur who goes through life with his friends and family learning important lessons every episode will end. The production for the show ended two years ago, according to the creator of the series, Kathy Waugh. Waugh developed the animated show for PBS in 1996 from books written and illustrated by Marc Brown. Revently Waugh was a guest on the "Finding DW" podcast with Jason Szwimer where she announced that they wrapped two years ago!

“We had our wrap party two years ago,” Waugh told Szwimer. “I think [PBS] made a mistake, and I think Arthur should come back and I know I’m not alone in thinking they made a mistake.” She continues, “I don’t know if it was a ratings issue or if it felt like it needed to be retired,” Waugh said. “To me, it felt evergreen, like it was never going to end. But it did end. We finished the last episode, season 25, two years ago.”

'Arthur' has won four Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Children’s Animated Program, along with a Peabody Award.
