BTS has their first number one album in the U.S. The K-pop group’s latest release, “Love Yourself: Tear,” debuts on top the “Billboard” 200 Album chart this week, moving 135,000 equivalent album units, 100,000 in traditional album sales.
“Love Yourself: Tear” is now the first ever K-Pop album to top the “Billboard” 200 album chart, and only the second K-Pop album to ever land in the Top Ten. The other album to do so was BTS’ “Love Yourself: Her,” which debuted at number seven last year. The album, which is mostly in Korean, is now the first primarily foreign-language album to top the “Billboard” 200 since Il Divo’s “Ancora” topped the chart in 2006.
