Oh No: The Condom Snorting Challenge Is Back

We tried this once, we don't need to try it again. The Cinnamon Challenge was funny, the Chubby Bunny Challenge was funny, this is not. Teens are starting to post videos of them snorting unwrapped condoms to gain views, subscribers, and likes.

The strange "challenge culture" emerged online in 2012 with the Cinnamon Challenge, over 50,000 YouTube videos were posted from teens and adults taking a swing at it.

And then we did The Ghost Pepper Challenge...

And then everybody lost their damn minds and started eating Tide Pods...

Which is how we've arrived in 2018 with this...

This is getting dangerous now, you can obviously tell why eating laundry detergent is bad for you, but here's why this condom challenge is just as bad...

Bruce Y. Lee, associate professor of International Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, says that with the exception of doctor-prescribed nasal sprays, "anything else that goes up your nose can damage the sensitive inner lining of your nose, cause an allergic reaction, or result in an infection."

He notes that the condom could also get stuck in the nasal cavity or the throat and cause someone to choke.

So moral of the story is let's take it down about 25 notches, and go back to the fun, less lethal challenges. Please and thank you.
