This past weekend there was a fierce battle for the top spot at the box office & it wasn't a "flawless victory" for Mortal Kombat. Two big movies were hoping to be number one, Demon Slayer and Mortal Kombat...the video game turned big-screen action movie, kicked its way to the top! Mortal Kombat brought in $22.5 million, while Demon Slayer has made $19.5 million. This opening weekend for Mortal Kombat has been the best R-rated movie opening since the beginning of the pandemic.
***SPOILER ALERT - There's gonna be a sequel and I'm pretty stoked about that!! We have no idea when MK2 will hit theaters, but it looks like fans want to see WWE Superstar The Miz playing the iconic "Johnny Cage" character in the next installment. The Miz has made it known that he would love to play the fighting game character & he even got a nice little co-sign from the Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon.
