Selena Gomez Reveals Why She Left 'The Scene'

Selena Gomez has solidified herself as a strong force in the music industry but not too long ago, Gomez bursted on the music scene, with, well, The Scene.  The songstress, with the band, released three albums under the name Selena Gomez & The Scene starting in 2008.  A few years later, in 2012, the band then went on a hiatus.

In a recent interview with Ask Anything Chat, Sally from Lexington, wondered what exactly happened to The Scene.

Selena's attitude is basically a "smile because it happened" kind of situation:

"That to me was a very specific time in my life. I think if you're 14, 15, 16 and you're trying to sing about situations in life that you haven't experienced, I don't really know if that qualifies you as an artist, if I'm being honest with you. It helped me to have people who were older around me that helped guide me, and inspired me and pushed me. And there was a moment when I felt like I could do it and I wanted to try it on my own."
