Welp, Kenny Bachman made a huge mistake of drunkenly taking a $1,600 Uber from West Virginia to New Jersey. Now, he's asking you to help him pay for it. Yea... seriously.
Bachman has launched a GoFundMe page to help him foot the bill. (I wish I could do that with my bills...but I know what responsibility means).
"Blacked out in an Uber and woke up to a $1,600 dent in my pocket," the GoFundMe page reads. GoFundMe is a crowd-sourcing website that allows people to donate to causes they deem worthy. THEY may deem it worthy...but you may not. LOL. But thankfully, you don't have to contribute. Unless you want to, of course!
So far, more people prefer reading about Bachman to whipping out their wallets: Bachman has received just one donation, for 50 dollars.
Bachman's bill was $1,635.93 -- a $3.94 base fare, a $2.35 booking fee, $696.95 for distance, $115.90 for time. Things were more expensive because Bachman unintentionally ordered an UberXL, which can hold up to six passengers and is hugely more expensive than the typical UberX. Still, it would have been just $819.14 -- if not for the surge pricing, which doubled every charge except the booking fee. See kids, drinking and driving is BAD. But equally as bad...is making poor financial decisions while drunk THEN asking for the public to pay for it is just dumb, in my opinion.
After originally challenging the charge because Bachman believed he did not request to be taken back to New Jersey but rather to where he was staying near West Virginia University, he agreed to pay the bill.
At the end of the day though... at least he didn't drink and drive. BUT asking someone else to pay the bill is a WHOLE other thing.
