A Flat Earth-er Tried To Prove the Earth Is Flat

It's 2018 so I'm not sure why we're still having this debate, but at least we can laugh while we do it. "Mad" Mike Hughes blasted off in his homemade rocket in an effort to prove that the Earth is indeed flat.  Mike launched 1,875 feet in the air in a green rocket over the Mojave Desert. He built the rocket using scrap metal, estimated to cost him about $20,000, and a modified mobile home served as his launch pad.

Hughes said that after this flight he has no information to fully prove that the Earth is flat, it'll have to wait for the next flight, which he hopes will launch him into space. He did comment though, saying

I don’t believe in science.

I know about aerodynamics and fluid dynamics and how things move through the air, about the certain size of rocket nozzles, and thrust, but that’s not science, that’s just a formula.

There’s no difference between science and science fiction.

"A" for effort, Mike. "A" for effort.
