A Franklin, Indiana man was arrested early this past Saturday night for driving while intoxicated, but this wasn't your run-of-the-mill DUI. No, Barry Ridge wasn't behind the wheel of a car, he was driving a ride along lawn mower! Officers received a complaint just after 5:00pm from someone upset that he was driving his tractor onto their lawn, mowing their grass. The homeowners also reported that it looked like he was holding a beer bottle in his hand.
Police pulled him over on County Road 100 North as he was riding his red lawn mower, the report details that his eyes "looked glassy." Ridge failed a breathalyzer test, blowing a 0.189%, a little more than two times over the legal limit of 0.08%.
This isn't he first time this guy ended up in this situation though, he was arrested in a Kroger parking lot in Marion County on April 8th for the same crime -- mowing while intoxicated.
Ridge's mower was impounded. He's still awaiting trial for his first, and now second, arrest.
