Ever wonder why your dog stares deeply into your soul while they do their business? Well a team of veterinarians has come out with an answer. Apparently it's pretty simple. When dogs are squatting, doing their business, they are in their most vulnerable position. They look to you, their owner, for protection.
That's it, they aren't staring you down or trying to get you to give them some privacy. What they really want is for you to guard them while they are in their most vulnerable position. Pretty interesting, huh. So I guess dogs do need us for more than just treats and belly rubs.
