Okay, weird. The funeral industry is pretty mysterious, only because we really have no idea what goes on behind closed doors...and also because its a very profitable business (isn't that strange?). True...we don't really know what goes on behind closed doors at funeral homes, but we do know this:
A Pennsylvania funeral director took pictures of corpses and sent them to her friends to 'gross them out.' Angeliegha Stewart was sentenced to 10 years probation after she pleaded guilty to 16 counts of abuse of a corpse. Didn't know that "abuse of a corpse" was a thing, but okay!
Stewart was also banned from ever working in the funeral industry again.
This sentencing comes after families of the corpses testified, speaking about how devastated they were that someone had taken these photos.
The official report says that Stewart took pictures during an organ-harvesting process and of decomposing corpses. She said she took the pictures to share with colleagues but also admitted to showing her ex-boyfriend an especially gruesome photo to "gross him out."
