Imagine heading out to your bank to hit the ATM real quick while you run some errands and instead of getting $20, you get $100. That's exactly what happened to quite a few Bank of America customers in Houston, Texas!
Early Monday afternoon a Bank of America ATM in Harris County had to be temporarily shut down after it was mistakenly giving out $100 bills instead of $20 bills.
After the news got out, cars began lining up at the bank off of I-45 but eventually dispersed once authorities arrived. Deputies commented on the situation saying they received a call that the ATM was malfunctioning.
Bank of America owned up to the issue saying that the bills were incorrectly loaded into the machine and anyone who received the additional money will be able to keep it!
The bank eventually released this statement:
"This was an incident at a single ATM in Houston caused when a vendor incorrectly loaded $100 bills in place of $10 bills. We have resolved the matter. Customers will be able to keep the additional money dispensed."
