You already know that french fries have been a staple in the American diet for a long time... but how many of these tasty delicacies should one person eat per serving?
According to Harvard professor, Eric Rimm, the perfect amount is only six French fries. The reason why you should only eat six because well, deep-fried food isn't the best thing to put in our body. Basically he was just pointing that out.
He said, "There aren't a lot of people who are sending back three-quarters of an order of french fries" adding, "I think it would be nice if your meal came with a side salad and six French fries." I honestly can't imagine only eating six fries... those six fries are the ones that you eat out of the bottom of the bag!!
A certified dietitian-nutritionist weighed in on Eric Rimm's statement and agreed with the overall sentiment saying that fries "are definitely a sometimes food at best," he wanted to point out that deep frying them removes vitamin content and increases calories.
So what did we take from this article... eat the six fries, and then finish the rest! You only live once!
