Man Moves Girlfriend Into Home With Wife Who Suffers From Alzheimer's

Yes, you read the headline correctly. Yeah I know it doesn't sound too good.

Alzheimer's is a horrible disease that can occur during middle or older age, due to generalized degeneration of the brain. According to, 5.7 million Americans are living with Alzheimer's. It can be really sad because it transforms your loved ones into complete strangers to the point they don't even recognize you.

Well, one man had a very interesting way of coping with his wife developing Alzheimer's. After his wife was diagnosed with Alzheimer's he moved his girlfriend into his house to live with him and his wife. His wife is Barbara Elaine Smith, best known as B.Smith had many professional roles. She was a model, author, restauranteur and even had her own line of products. Back in 2013 she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and her memory has been decreasing since then.

Her husband, Clarence "Dan" Gasby continues to care for her, as he is her primary caretaker. B.Smith needs the constant help as simple tasks such as blowing her nose can be difficult for her. Gasby announced his interesting living arrangement to the world via Facebook back in December by saying, "Hate it or love it. You can debate, but for me, I'm feeling great" which is a 50 Cent lyric.

You can check out this interesting video by the Washington post where they open up about their situation.
