It’s officially the holidays which means it’s time to cook up one of Ryan’s favorite annual dishes: brisket.
The mouth-watering dish is courtesy of Ryan’s friends Jeff and Laura Shell.
Ingredients:
1 large (4 lb) brisket
1 bottle BBQ sauce
1 bottle Catalina salad dressing
1 large onion, chopped
A few cloves garlic.
Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 425.
Salt and pepper brisket and lay it flat in large roasting pan. Combine next 4 ingredients, along with 2 cups water, and pour over the brisket. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Reduce heat to 325 and cook for 2 hours. Remove foil, turn brisket over and bake 2 more hours at 275. Allow to cool then cover and refrigerate overnight.
The next day, skim fat off the top and slice the brisket. Put in oven-proof dish with sauce. When ready to serve, reheat for about an hour at 350.
