Christian music singer, Lauren Daigle came to the Z100 studios to talk about her album Look Up Child and how music really was there for her at a time she most needed it.
The singer was only 15 when she was diagnosed with an illness called the cytomegalovirus. The immune deficiency kept her homebound for about two-years. During this time, Daigle learned how to sing, thanks to her mom who thought voice lessons would keep her from depression. "And I fell in love, it became my healing" says Daigle on finding music during a time of such isolation, "From that space that's where those songs come from. I feel like that experience, I could live a lifetime off of just those two years."
The now 27-year-old now tells everyone "What you think might overcome you, is actually just the place you're supposed to launch from." No better way to say it right there.
You can check out Daigle's full interview with Maxwell and her performance at the Billboard Music Awards Wednesday, May 1st on NBC.
