Disney Channel is getting ready to premiere it's new television show "Andi Mack." There's a ton of positive buzz surrounding the new show because it's created by the creative mind behind Lizzie McGuire, Terri Minsky, as well as being the first Disney Channel show to star an Asian-American family. The hype for "Andi Mack" just got even more real after Seventeen reported that the show's premiere episode features an extremely shocking twist. Only read on if you don't mind the show's twist being spoiled.
The show centers on 13-year-old Andi Mack. In the first episode, Andi finds out that her older sister Bex is actually her mom. YES, you read that right. Disney Channel will be airing a show that deals with this very real, very human story line concerning teen pregnancy. Terri Minsky, the show's creator, says the show won't be too controversial. Some parents, though, may be nervous about this premise due to Disney Channel's history of airing fluffier content for younger audiences.
The entire premiere episode is available on YouTube already. You can check it out below and see how you feel with Disney's new creative direction. What do you think about this surprising twist???
