Liam Payne Confirms Nobody Has Left 1D Since Going On Hiatus

It's been an exciting few weeks for fans of One Direction. The group decided to take a hiatus at the end of 2016, following the exit of former member Zayn Malik, and stayed off our airwaves for a while. Seemingly all at once, One Direction is back releasing new music. Only this time, they're doing it as solo artists. Harry Styles, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan all released new music within a few weeks of each other. It looks like they didn't check in with each other's schedules beforehand.

It's been great to see the boys back doing what they love most. It is, of course, bittersweet to see them working as solo artists. We love that they're following their passions and creating their own unique sounds, but we can't help but miss the good, ole' days of 1D. Seeing  how happy they are as solo artists makes fans a little nervous, too, because it makes them doubt a 1D reunion is ever going to happen. We got the chance to talk with Liam Payne and he confirmed that nobody has left 1D since the hiatus started.

Liam was explaining the controversial 1D lyric in his new single 'Strip That Down,' saying he didn't mean it negatively at all.  "Everybody is free to do their own thing in music and explore the music. I was worried that people would take it negatively. It's not meant to be in that sense at all," he explained. "None of us left the band. We're on hiatus still. What a great hiatus it's been so far, so let's just hope it carries on."

Okay, we can all take a sigh of relief now. While One Direction might not be regrouping tomorrow, it's great to hear that Liam, Harry, Niall, and Louis still consider themselves a band. Knowing that, we can sit back and enjoy all the awesome new music these guys are releasing!
