Actor and musician Jamie Foxx is going to make someone (or many people) a millionaire on Fox's new interactive musical game show based on the popular Shazam app.

From The Voice producer Mark Burnett, Don't Forget the Lyrics creator Jeff Apploff, and Shazam Entertainment Limited comes Beat Shazam, a show that pits three teams of two against each other as they race the clock to identify the biggest hit songs of all time.

"At the end, only one team goes against Shazam, and if they can identify six songs and beat Shazam, they get a million dollar," Foxx, who will serve as host and executive producer on the show, told On Air with Ryan Seacrest over the phone on Wednesday.

He teased, "I watched somebody actually win the million dollars! It's is earth-shattering, man. It is beyond belief on how it came out."

The Shazam technology can identify a song within two to five seconds, but some contestants on the show can guess the song in 1.8, 1.4, 1.3 seconds, according to Foxx. Like a lot of reality competitions, the contestants share emotional stories on why it's important to win the cash prize. "Nobody was playing for themselves," Foxx said, then added, "You know what we got most? Student loans. Everybody's like, 'I have to pay off my student loans.'"

After Foxx signed off, Seacrest challenged Sisanie and Tanya Rad on a quick round of "Beat Shazam." See who won by listening to the audio clip above. You can watch the premiere of Beat Shazam Thursday night at 8/7c on Fox.
