A quick-hitting winter storm is expected to move through the New York City area President's Day Weekend.
Arriving around 7 p.m. Saturday, the storm is expected to drop the most snow on northern and north western New Jersey, leaving about 5 - 6 inches by the time the snow stops Sunday afternoon/evening.
Forecasters expect New York City and nearby counties like Westchester and Fairfield County, CT, to get 3 - 5 inches.
Long Island should get 1 - 3 inches.
Snow should stop falling in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
With highs in the upper 40s and 50s on Sunday, the snow is not expected to melt fairly quickly.
Though the warmer temperatures will make the snow heavy and wet for those who have no choice but to shovel.
Residents are advised to be careful of exerting themselves while shoveling.
Sunday is expected to be mainly sunny with highs around 50. Sunday night should be mostly clear with a low of about 35.
President's Day Monday should be partly cloudy with periods of rain and a high of 49.
Tuesday and Wednesday will feel like spring with highs near 70!
