Zayn called in to Z100 to catch up with Maxwell about his new music. The 25-year-old singer released his song "Let Me" recently, which got fans excited for his sophomore solo album. Zayn opened up about what fans can expect from the upcoming album, saying it's "a development of the last record" and that there will be "more mature songs...more honest lyrics." He also said that this album will be a closer look at what it's like to be him as a solo artist. Zayn will be "experimenting with different sounds and different genres of music" on the upcoming album, as well.
While Zayn did not go on tour to promote his first solo album - which is understandable considering the only thing One Direction did for five years was tour the world - he revealed he will be going on tour for his sophomore effort. "I'm rehearsing at the minute and I'm going to get out there and see the fans," he revealed. "I'm really excited for touring, actually. This time around I feel like I've got enough material to put a show together." He says he really wants to give his fans "what they want."
It's great to hear that Zayn is ready to get back on the road. He's been open in the past about how his anxiety has held him back from performing live shows. He wrote a note to his fans after having to cancel a live show, saying "I have been working over the last three months to overcome my extreme anxiety around major live solo performances. I feel I am making progress but I have today acknowledged that I do not feel sufficiently confident to move forward with the planned show in Dubai in October." It looks like Zayn is a good place and ready to share his music with his fans now, though, as he told Maxwell that he "wants to be on stage, enjoy my music, and show [my fans] that I'm all about this and that this is what I'm dedicated to and what I love doing."
Now it's time to wait for that tour announcement. See you on the road, Zayn!
