Mila Kunis Revealed Her Mom's Reaction To Ashton Kutcher Relationship

Mila Kunis sat down with Dax Shepard for a chat on his candid podcast "Armchair Expert" and the 34-year-old actress spoke, well, candidly about her relationships. From her "horrible, horrible" break up with Macaulay Culkin to her marriage to Ashton Kutcher, Mila held nothing back. She's spoken about how surprising it was to her when she started falling for her That 70's Show co-star after 15 years of friendship, but she wasn't the only one who was shocked about the budding relationship. Mila's mother had a hilarious reaction when she learned her daughter was dating Ashton.

"I told my mom I was seeing him. We were driving up Laurel Canyon, and I was like, 'Mom, I have to tell you, I'm dating somebody.' And she was like, 'Oh, tell me! Who are you dating?' And I was like, 'You've got to brace yourself for this one. I'm dating Ashton Kutcher.' And she literally was like, 'Shut the fuck up,' in Russian," Kunis told Shepard. "I was like, 'No, I'm serious. I also may be in love with him, so….'"

"There were so many thoughts that she couldn't process. There's so many versions of his life that people thought he was that he wasn't," Kunis explained, which was one of the many reasons they tried to keep the relationship secret for as long as possible. "We were crazy neurotic about keeping it secret, like, to probably a massive fault, where we alienated so many friends, I'm sure."

Dax Shepard was able to sympathize with this, of course, as he's in an extremely high profile relationship himself. Dax married Kristen Bell in 2013 and he discussed what it's really like to have so many people invested in your private relationship. "From my point of view, it took years before people embraced that Kristen and I were an item. People were like, 'Why is America's sweetheart with a guy I've only seen play a dumbass?'" Dax said of his own experience.

There was certainly a huge reaction from That 70's Show fans when it was revealed that Mila and Ashton - who played high school sweethearts on the show - were an item, but Kunis was shielded from all the fuss. "I don't have social media, so there probably was, and I was just shielded from it by [Kutcher]. I guess I didn't realize what [any repercussions] would be, but I was like, 'This is either going to go one way or the other.'"
