The man accused of murdering a New York City nurse reportedly confessed to police that he killed six other women. 27-year-old Danueal Drayton was arrested in North Hollywood, California last week after holding a woman captive.
Drayton was wanted for the murder of Samantha Stewart in Queens, New York. Police believe he flew to California shortly after killing Stewart in her apartment after meeting her on Tinder.
While he was in custody, Drayton admitted to killing six other women, according to a report by the New York Daily News.
“My body did this, not my mind,” a police source quoted Drayton as telling investigators. “I didn’t want to do this. My body made me do this.”
Drayton claimed to have killed two women in Connecticut, one woman in the Bronx, another in Suffolk County, and one in Queens or Nassau County. Police also believe he may have killed a woman in California. Investigators are looking into his claims, and are unsure if he was telling the truth, or just rambling.
Drayton is being held in California on $1.25 million bail and faces a laundry list of charges including attempted murder, forcible rape, sexual penetration by foreign object and false imprisonment.
