A superior court judge in North Carolina ordered a Texas man to pay $8.8 million to the ex-husband of his lover. Keith King filed a civil complaint against  Francisco Huizar III accusing him of "criminal conversation, alienation of affection, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress and assault and battery," according to the Durham News & Observer

King's attorney Joanne Foil argued that his wife's affair not only impacted him personally, but it also hurt his company BMX Stunt Shows because he had to fire his wife when he learned she was cheating on him with Huizar.

Judge Orlando Hudson awarded King $2.2 million in compensatory damages and $6.6 million in punitive damages. Huizar’s attorney said they plan to appeal the ruling.
