A New York City man is behind bars after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend with a copy of the Bible. According to the New York Post, the woman called 911 after Daniel Laforge assaulted her during an argument in their Bronx apartment just before 7 a.m. on Sunday (July 29) morning.
Police said Laforge started punching his 41-year-old girlfriend before he grabbed a copy of the Bible and smacked her across the head and shoulder with it. The woman told officers that "she suffered significant pain on her head and shoulder" after the beating.
Laforge was arrested and charged with felony assault and harassment.
