Violence broke out again near President Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Sunday night's melee started when a protester tried to steal a red "Make America Great Again" hat off the head of a Trump supporter who was speaking through a megaphone. This sparked a chaotic scene of pushing and shoving. At one point during the brawl, the Trump supporter headbutted one of the protesters, leaving him with a large gash on his head.
Police officers were already on the scene and broke up the melee before it spiraled out of control. The LAPD said that one juvenile was arrested for assaulting a police officer, and the second suspect in the original fight fled the scene before he could be taken into custody.
Sunday night's violence marks the second time tensions have boiled over since President Trump's star was destroyed by a pickax wielding vandal.
Despite the violence and protests, the LAPD and the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce said they have no intention of removing Trump's star and worry that doing so could result in more violence.
