It's official: young love is dead.
On Tuesday (July 31), Millie Bobby Brown and Jacob Sartorius announced through their Instagram stories that they had broken up after seven months of dating. The young couple made things Instagram official in January.
Thankfully, the 13-year-old actress and 15-year-old singer both assured the split was mutual.
"The decision with Jacob and I was completely mutual. We are both happy and remaining friends," Brown wrote on her account, while Sartorius wrote "The decision w mills was completely mutual & we are both happy and remaining friends."
Though the teen idols assure things are okay between them, some fans think otherwise. "Someone send her ice cream and a teddy bear. I remember teenage heartbreak. It sucks," one user tweeted.
Some fans think Millie will be just fine. "She can do better," one user tweeted simply, while another wrote "good. millie deserves better." Others have just given up on love completely, with one fan tweeting "Millie bobby brown & Jacob sartorius broke up.. love really isnt real."
There's also those seeing this as an opportunity to make Brown's Stranger Things romance a real thing by dating her co-star Finn Wolfhard IRL. "Millie sweetie you could’ve done waaay better boo!!!" a fan tweeted. "Your a super star he’s not Now date Finn."
