Trippie Redd has had a whirlwind summer. The young rapper turned 19 on June 18, which happened to be the same day he was released from jail. However, it was also the same day his friend and collaborator XXXTentacion was shot and killed in Florida.
The Ohio-bred emcee is picking himself back up and determined to make August a happier month. He's dropping his anticipated debut full length album Life's a Trip this Friday (August 10) and shared a cut off the project called "Taking a Walk."
The track is co-produced by the legendary Scott Storch and finds Trippie feeling a little more introspective. "Ooh, swear they think I wanna die, yeah/ 'Cause my doors are suicide, yeah/ Bet my coffin would be nice, yeah/ Stud that bitch up with some ice, yeah/ These people don't want me alive, no/ They wanna play games with my life," he raps during the chorus.
