The hit TV show on NBC that always leaves us in tears is coming back September 25th and this time with a new full-time cast member. This Is Us is the feel-good show we have all been waiting for and it really has touched all of our hearts. The all-star cast including Milo Ventimiglia, Sterling K Brown and Mandy Moore have done such a good job making this show something we all cherish. Now a member of the cast that made a lot of cameos in Season 2 is coming back for Season 3 as a full time cast member.
TVLine has reported that Lyric Ross, who plays Deja on the show, will be returning as a series regular in the upcoming Season. Get ready for more tears as Deja takes this role full-time on your TV's Tuesday nights. Last time we saw Deja she was smashing Randall's car window while the rest of the Pearson's were toasting Toby and Kate after getting married in the season finale. Now that she's a regular on the show, we will have so much time to understand her reaction.
This news comes shortly after we found out Melanie Liburd became a regular on the show as Beth's cousin Zoe. In the finale Zoe tried to comfort Deja about her absent mother trying to relate to her with similar experiences however Deja refused to be comforted leading to her eventual destruction of Randall's car. Now both of these all-star actresses will be regulars on Season 3.
Co-showrunner Elizabeth Berger said at the Television Critics Association summer press tour, "We felt like at the end of Season 2, our family had grieved and processed [Jack’s death]. This is a hopeful season and a season about true new beginnings for everybody."
This hint of "new beginnings" will hopefully include Deja's continuous journey in finding herself and where she fits in. Season 3 of This Is Us premieres on Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
