Wegmans Is Hiring For Its First NYC Supermarket

The supermarket we've all been anxiously waiting for, a Wegmans in Brooklyn, New York is still coming together. However, the hiring office is officially looking for new employees

"We're looking to hire about 500 people from the community," store manager Kevin Cuff said.

The famous upstate-based grocery chain will be planting its ground in the Brooklyn Navy Yard with a HUGE 74,000-foot store. The store is set to open this fall but it is already looking for employees. Managers at the hiring office are accepting applications now for full and part-time positions. You can get a job from merchandising and customer service to entry-level management and even culinary.

Cuff says they are looking to hire many of the employees from the immediate neighborhood and will begin the recruiting soon.

"We're always looking for hyper-local but really we're looking at just good people," he said. "Good people in here that will meet our values and that standard that we always portray for our customers."

Even though the store won't be open until this fall, Wegmans will be giving offers for jobs at the store as early as February and the new employees will immediately start training.
